As the Operations Manager for Morrisons in Jersey, you are dedicated to driving continuous improvement across all operational facets. Your role encompasses enhancing operations, bolstering commercial performance, serving our customers and communities, supporting colleagues, and ensuring compliance with safe and legal standards.
You will act as a crucial link between Jersey and the Central Teams at Hilmore House, tailoring essential work streams to align with unique local operational methods. By conducting operational visits and assessing stores, you will identify key opportunities for improvement that align with the Operations Director's focus.
This role is accountable for the successful delivery of execution plans, change initiatives, and improvement plans across the region. You will work alongside approximately 350 colleagues and 30 Store Managers to ensure productivity savings land right first time.
Some of your responsibilities will include:- Leading and landing change programmes and retail execution to ensure they are well-planned and successful in-store.
- Improving management capability by coaching, developing, and mentoring your teams to create a future pipeline of talent.
- Using customer insight and data sets to identify improvement opportunities that increase sales and reduce complaints.
- Ensuring all stores are safe and legal, creating and following up on plans where non-conformance is identified.
- Driving continuous improvement of store metrics, including absence, holidays, and payroll management.
- Building strong relations with the Support Office and wider stakeholders to remove barriers and simplify ways of working.
- Working strategically with the Operations Director to plan and execute the convenience plan on a weekly, periodic, and annual basis.
- Driving quantifiable improvements on all cost lines to ensure budgets are delivered at both store and regional levels.
- Substantial retail and operational expertise across the convenience sector.
- Strong commercial acumen to develop competitive operational plans with a sound awareness of local competitor activity.
- A proven track record of delivering significant improvement plans across Sales, Operations, Colleague, Costs, and Service areas.
- Strong coaching and leadership skills, with the ability to lead a high-performing management team to deliver excellent KPIs.
- The ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relations across all levels and areas of the business.
- Proven ability to plan and review performance across weekly and periodic timelines to drive regional improvement.
