Divisional Senior Manager (Planning) – Leicestershire

Leicestershire Division of East Midlands Ambulance Service is seeking a Second Divisional Planning Lead to support our improvement journey. You will have experience leading planning and performance monitoring, and a working understanding of organisational and national priorities for the ambulance sector.

Main duties

Provide Divisional oversight and coordinate the delivery of planning and performance improvement across Leicestershire, supporting the EMAS strategy. Accountable to the Divisional Director for setting objectives and priorities. Work closely with Heads of Operations and provide professional leadership for a team of Divisional Commanders.

About the role

Responsible for tactical/planned aspects of Divisional activity, supporting the leadership structure focused on reactive/dynamic service delivery. Acts as key interface with external stakeholders and partners.

Job responsibilities

Accountable for a broad range of shared responsibilities to support division leadership as defined by the Divisional Director, part of the Divisional Senior Leadership Team.

  • Manage and plan assets to ensure delivery of contractual targets, quality standards, and adherence to cost improvement controls and planning.
  • Provide senior manager (tactical) on-call cover across 5 working days to ensure consistent delivery of services during 7 days and 24-hour period.
Qualifications
  • Degree level management qualification (or studying for) or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of health service management, including change management and workforce redesign.
Experience
  • Track record of achievement in planning quality improvement over at least two years.
  • Experience managing people in clinical performance and conduct.
  • Good understanding of CQC core standards and high compliance.
  • Understanding of responsibilities of divisional leadership (operational, clinical, command) teams.
