We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Care Managerto join our warm and welcoming elderly residential home based in Leicester. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced care professional to step into a leadership role within a well-established setting that is committed to delivering the highest standard of person-centred care to its residents.
As Deputy Care Manager, you will work closely alongside the Registered Care Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and dignity of all residents are upheld at all times. This position is initially offered on a 12-month contract basis, with a strong view to becoming a
** permanent role for the right candidate.
As Deputy Care Manager, your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting the Care Manager in the effective daily running of the residential home and stepping in during their absence
* Supervising, mentoring, and motivating a team of care staff to maintain high standards of care delivery
* Conducting care assessments and developing, implementing, and reviewing personalised care plans for all residents
* Ensuring full compliance with CQC regulations, company policies, and relevant legislation
* Managing safeguarding concerns in line with local authority procedures and reporting requirements
* Monitoring residents' health and wellbeing, liaising with GPs, healthcare professionals, and family members as required
* Leading and participating in staff training, inductions, and professional development initiatives
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date care documentation, records, and risk assessments
* Supporting the recruitment and performance management of care staff
* Promoting a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment for both residents and staff
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Hold a Level 3 in Health and Social Care
* Have proven experience working in an elderly residential or care home setting, ideally in a senior or supervisory capacity
* Strong understanding of CQC and regulatory requirements within residential care
* Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
* Solid knowledge of safeguarding procedures, risk assessments, and care planning processes
* Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
* Empathetic, patient, and genuinely passionate about improving the lives of elderly residents
* Proficiency in using care management software and maintaining accurate digital records
* A valid DBS Check
* Full eligibility to work in the United Kingdom
* Competitive salary of £35,000 per annum
