Are you a confident and experienced SEND leader, passionate about making a real difference to the lives and outcomes of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities?

Leicestershire County Council is seeking an exceptional Special Educational Needs Assessment (SENA) Team Manager to play a pivotal role within our high performing SEND service. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead practice, support staff and drive high-quality statutory delivery for families across Leicestershire.

As a SENA Team Manager, you will support the SENA Service Managers in the strategic and operational leadership of the service, providing strong management oversight to Case Managers and Senior Case Managers. You will ensure the Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessment, planning and review processes are delivered to a consistently high standard, within statutory timescales, and with children and families at the centre of everything we do.

We are particularly keen to speak to anyone with experience in Post 16 and preparation for adulthood for one of these posts.

An enhanced with barred list DBS check is required for this post.

• Relevant BTEC Higher, relevant NVQ Level 4 or equivalent and substantial experience, or equivalent work experiences.
• Recent and relevant experience of managing a team, with the ability to manage people and resources to create more effective and efficient service delivery.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the concepts and implications of special educational needs, including knowledge of current educational legislation, regulations and guidance as they apply to special educational needs.
• Ability to analyse and present data, including the ability to analyse complex legislation and guidance and interpret performance information to inform decision making.
• Ability to present information in clear written form for a variety of audiences, including experience of presenting information and arguments in formal settings.
• Ability to work in partnership with parents and staff from other agencies, demonstrating the ability to inspire confidence in the public and colleagues.
• Be highly motivated, flexible and able to use initiative, dependable and able to meet deadlines when under pressure.
