Workforce Development Manager

This permanent post sits in Integrated Children's Services at Nottinghamshire County Council, where the postholder leads workforce development across the department. The work covers workforce and learning strategy, training programmes, recruitment and retention pathways including social work training, budgets, and partnership working. It is a hybrid role, and a Level 4 qualification in social care or a related family field is required.

• Create and implement workforce and learning strategies that drive continuous improvement
• Manage training and development programmes so staff have the skills they need
• Lead initiatives to attract, develop and retain staff, including career pathways and social work training programmes
• Oversee workforce development budgets and resources
• Work with colleagues and partner organisations on workforce planning and service improvement
• Keep up to date with legislation, policy and best practice and apply it to workforce development

• Relevant qualification at level 4 or above, such as social care, child development or family systems

• Evidence of continuous professional development

• Knowledge of effective, evidence-based practice in workforce development
• Leadership, setting a positive example and motivating others to high performance
• Strong interpersonal communication with staff, partners and stakeholders
• Problem-solving, making informed decisions and devising solutions to meet operational targets
