Position: Assembly Technician (R+D)

We are working with a highly respected, global precision engineering business to recruit an Assembly Technician to join their expanding Product Assembly team.

This is an excellent opportunity to apply your electrical and mechanical assembly skills within a world-class, high-technology manufacturing environment. The company designs and manufactures advanced precision equipment supplied into demanding global markets.

The Role

As part of a skilled and collaborative team, you will assemble, test and calibrate high-precision products to exacting quality standards. The work is varied, technical and requires exceptional attention to detail.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Electrical and mechanical precision assembly
  • Interpreting mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Assembly, testing and calibration of complex, high-value products
  • Supporting prototype builds and new product introduction into production
  • Working alongside Engineering to improve processes and efficiency
  • Running test procedures, collecting data and completing technical documentation
  • Maintaining high standards of quality and output
  • Acting as a role model for Apprentices and team members

This role demands a methodical approach, pride in workmanship and a strong focus on delivering right-first-time quality.

Experience & Skills Required
  • Experience in electrical and mechanical assembly
  • Experience working with Manufacturing Engineering and R&D teams
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Experience building intricate mechanical assemblies
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality output
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience running test procedures and documenting results
Qualifications:
  • Minimum Level 3 Apprenticeship in Mechanical or Electronic discipline
  • HNC/HND or higher in Engineering preferred
