Overall, Purpose of the role:
We are looking for a Welder to cut and join metals through fusion welding and spot welding. You will operate appropriate equipment to put together mechanical structures or parts. The job is important as it provides a critical path in the cabinet assembly build along with many other assemblies within the business.
A welder must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions. The ideal candidate will also have a steady hand and great attention to detail.
Inputting of clear & accurate completion of internal Work Orders via companies ERP system
To work proactively as part of a team and individually to improve productivity and efficiency.
Safe material handling, including manual pallet truck operation, training will be provided.
Responsible for cleanliness & tidiness of the welding plant & immediate area.
Ensure production schedule is followed by the Work to Lists.
Assist where necessary within the Production facility.
This not a definitive list and is subject to change as the business needs deem necessary. You may be required to undertake differing tasks within your capability.
Responsibilities- Read drawings and take or read measurements to build the assemblies.
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
- Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements).
- Align components.
- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment.
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
- Work with the team to continuously improve the methodology.

- Knowledge of metallurgy advantageous but not required
- Knowledge of manual and mechanical welding techniques
- Experience in MIG/TIG Welder
- Experience in Stainless, Mild Steel and Aluminium an advantage
- Fabrication Experience- able to read drawing and assembly/weld
- Welding materials using the correct materials to join the metals together
- Proficient in English
- Professional Certification (e.g. welding certificate) will be beneficial.
The role is for 40 hours per week- hours may extend to meet demand in busy periods. Full training and PPE will be provided. Pay is dependent on qualifications & experience.
