Welder Fabricator (Sheet Metal Industry)Salary: up to £18/hr depending on experienceJob Type: Full-Time / PermanentWorking Hours: Late Shift - 2pm - Midnight Monday - Wednesday, 2pm - 11.30 Thursday. About the RoleWe are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Welder Fabricator to join our client's growing sheet metal fabrication team on a permanent late shift. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional with strong welding and fabrication knowledge, particularly within stainless steel, aluminium, or mild steel sheet metal work.
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality fabricated components and assemblies to specification, working from engineering drawings and ensuring excellent standards of workmanship. Key Responsibilities
- Welding and fabricating sheet metal components and assemblies
- Working with materials such as stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel
- Carrying out MIG and/or TIG welding to a high standard
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and fabrication instructions.
- Measuring, cutting, forming, and assembling sheet metal parts
- Preparing materials for welding including tacking, grinding, and finishing
- Ensuring all work meets quality standards and customer specifications.
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised working environment
- Supporting general workshop production and team collaboration
- Proven experience as a Welder Fabricator in a sheet metal or fabrication environment
- Competent in MIG and/or TIG welding techniques
- Ability to fabricate from drawings with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good understanding of workshop health & safety practices
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Physically capable of manual handling and working in a busy production setting.
- Experience in precision sheet metal fabrication
- Welding qualifications or coded welding experience
