We are seeking a proactive and detail-focused Quality Assurance Technician (QA) to join our growing Technical team. This is a hands‑on role within a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment, supporting food safety, compliance, legality, and product quality across cooking and bakery operations.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the factory floor, working closely with production teams, and ensuring products consistently meet the highest standards.

The Role

As a QA Technician, you will support and monitor food safety, quality, and compliance standards across high care and low care environments.

Key Responsibilities Food Safety, Quality & Compliance
  • Carry out routine QA inspections and verification checks across production areas
  • Monitor compliance with food safety, legal, quality, GMP, hygiene, and cleaning standards
  • Support and maintain BRCGS, HACCP, allergen management, and food safety systems
  • Verify production paperwork, CCP records, traceability documentation, and line clearance checks
  • Monitor allergen controls, zoning, product segregation, and foreign body prevention procedures
Production & Technical Support
  • Perform start‑up checks, in‑process quality assessments, and cooking/cooling verification activities
  • Conduct temperature monitoring, calibration verification, and environmental sampling activities
  • Assist with product investigations, stock holds, quarantine processes, shelf‑life trials, and complaint investigations
  • Escalate non‑conformances and support CAPAs, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
Audits & Supplier Assurance
  • Support internal, customer, and BRCGS audits including technical documentation and audit evidence
  • Verify incoming raw materials and packaging against specifications and supplier documentation
  • Support supplier approval, monitoring activities, and maintenance of specification records
What We're Looking For Essential
  • Experience with in high care or chilled food manufacturing
  • Good understanding of food safety and hygiene principles
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Comfortable working in factory production environments
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work with production teams
  • Flexible approach to working across multiple sites and production areas
Desirable
  • Knowledge of BRCGS standards and HACCP systems
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Food Safety qualification
  • Previous QA or Technical experience
