The Opportunity
An established and growing engineering business, specialising in the design and manufacture of advanced automation and robotic systems, is looking to recruit an experienced Electrical Technician / Wire person to join its skilled team.

The Role
You will play a key role in the build and development of special purpose machinery, taking responsibility for high-quality electrical assembly and wiring from start to finish.
Key responsibilities include:
Electrical wiring of control panels and bespoke machinery
Wiring machine elements and electrical cabinets, including modifications and rectification work
Supporting the commissioning and development of equipment once powered
Leading allocated builds through the shop floor stage
Maintaining accurate build documentation in line with internal procedures
Liaising with internal teams to resolve design and build issues
Supporting installations and commissioning both on-site and occasionally at customer locations (UK and overseas)
Key Duties
Assemble, route, and test electrical wiring systems to required standards
Set up sensors and electrical systems prior to commissioning
Carry out manual operational checks before development stages
Assist with mechanical fitting tasks where required (including pneumatics routing)
Support equipment development through to customer acceptance testing
Provide support for installed equipment at customer sites
Ensure builds are completed to high standards of quality, presentation, and cleanliness
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Significant experience as an Electrical Technician / Wire person within special purpose machinery or automation environments
A recognised engineering apprenticeship and relevant electrical qualifications
Strong ability to read and interpret electrical engineering drawings
Solid understanding of electrical principles, safety standards, and regulations
Experience working with pneumatic systems
A proactive, problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail
Flexibility to travel when required for site-based work
