A long-standing manufacturing business specialising in the production of precision-machined and sheet metal components for a range of industries, including Automotive, Yellow Goods, Defence and Medical.
About the Role:Our client is looking for a dependable MIG Welder to join their team. This is a permanent role for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work and is looking for a stable position within an established manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will have previous MIG welding experience, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment. Experience working with mild steel and sheet metal would be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:- MIG welding components and assemblies to required specifications.
- Welding mild steel and sheet metal components.
- Working from engineering drawings and weld specifications.
- Setting and operating MIG welding equipment.
- Carrying out visual inspections and quality checks on completed welds.
- Identifying and rectifying basic welding defects where required.
- Using hand tools and workshop equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintaining a clean and organised working area.
- Following company health and safety procedures and production standards.
- Working as part of a team to achieve production and quality targets.
- Previous MIG welding experience is essential.
- Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Experience welding mild steel and/or sheet metal.
- Able to read and understand engineering drawings and welding specifications.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Practical, reliable and level-headed approach to work.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, hardworking and willing to follow established processes.
- Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts.
- Previous experience with robotic welding or CNC machinery would be advantageous but is not essential.
