Digital Marketing, Marketing Communications, Marketing Strategy
The Business Partnering team supports the university’s recruitment and commercial objectives, with a focus on portfolio performance, competitiveness and student recruitment outcomes. Working with a Business Partner, you will coordinate and deliver course marketing and student recruitment focused communications and activity for a designated faculty, ensuring solutions are insight-led and aligned with agreed objectives.
Collaborating with the wider Mar Comms directorate and managing stakeholders effectively, you will develop a strong understanding of DMU's portfolio, its audiences and market position, using this insight to shape messaging and campaign activity. As part of a small, supportive team, you will deliver end-to-end marketing and recruitment activity while contributing to a “one team” ethos across the Business Partnering team, helping shape how courses are positioned and promoted to future students.
IdealCandidate
We’re looking for a creative, innovative, and resilient team member who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have a curiosity for how market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity shape demand. You will be both analytical and pragmatic—able to move between project coordination and hands‑on delivery. An awareness of the UK and international student markets is desirable, but not essential.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience delivering high-quality, innovative marketing, content ideation, copywriting, student recruitment, communications, and/or event activity, supported by strong project management skills.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to build, develop, and manage positive stakeholder relationships.
- Confidence in engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior management, academics, and colleagues across multiple teams, with the ability to influence and persuade effectively.
- Experience (or a strong interest) in product or course marketing, including translating complex offerings into clear and compelling propositions.
- The ability to use data, insight, and market intelligence to monitor performance, evaluate impact, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Resilience when balancing competing priorities and viewpoints.
- An understanding of commissioning or briefing in work across an organisation.
