Salary: £28,500 - £36,000 depending on experience
Hours per week: 35
Location:

Ready to make an impact? IOSH—the global chartered body for health and safety—is looking for a talented PR and Public Affairs Executive to help amplify our voice across national, international and sector media.
In this role, you will contribute to high impact media relations, develop compelling content, track emerging issues, and support our advocacy and public affairs work. You’ll collaborate across the organisation to bring IOSH’s vision, strategy, policy positions and campaigns to life through effective, engaging communications.
In this varied and fast paced role, you will:
- Build strong relationships with journalists and media outlets
- Deliver proactive and reactive media activity
- Create engaging content—press releases, op-eds, blogs, pitches and more
- Support campaigns that drive awareness of IOSH’s vision and policy positions
- Monitor media trends and spot opportunities for impact
- Work closely with digital, social and policy colleagues to ensure joined up communications
- Support the delivery of IOSH’s industry-leading member magazine
- Collaborate on the development of presentations and speeches for senior IOSH staff and volunteers to deliver at high-profile events
- Excellent writing and storytelling skills
, with the ability to craft clear, compelling and audience focused content. - Proven ability to write strong press releases and translate complex information into engaging, newsworthy material.
- A strong news sense
, with the ability to identify, shape and pitch compelling stories that capture media interest and generate positive coverage. - Confidence in building effective relationships with journalists and media outlets
, engaging with a diverse range of audiences and stakeholders. - Comfortable liaising with and influencing staff and volunteers
, ensuring they are well-briefed and remain aligned with key messages. - Experience creating impactful content and supporting multi‑channel campaigns that drive engagement.

- Proven experience of supporting the development, implementation and analysis of content‑led plans and campaigns in an organisation with multiple stakeholders and customer segments.
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience.
