Overview
The International Association for Democracy (IAD) is an NGO that works to defend and advance democracy around the globe. We link people with their governments and lobby governments to promote, strengthen and safeguard democratic institutions, processes, norms and values at home and abroad. We also work towards raising public awareness about the current state of democracy around the world and what should be done to better defend and promote democracy.

IAD is looking for a Voluntary Social Media Officer to join our vibrant Social Media team and help us promote IAD’s message across our social media accounts. This role is expected to take 3-5 hours per week.
Responsibilities- Prepare IAD posts for Facebook, Instagram and Twitter on topics relating to democracy, adding value to our audience and driving channel growth
- Prepare images for social media posts using Canva (training provided)
- Suggest topics IAD should post on
- Carry out digital campaigning on our social media pages: engage with relevant content as IAD to increase our visibility on social media and to gain new followers (training provided)
- Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in Political Sciences or a related field
- Previous experience with social media (in personal or professional capacity)
- Basic understanding of Google Workspace and collaboration tools on Google Docs
- Passion for democracy, rule of law and human rights
- Can generate engaging infographics and videos
- Training from our social media experts, which will allow you to further develop your skills
- Experience in an international NGO and an excellent reference to help you in your career
- You will join a welcoming international network of students and professionals, who have a passion for promoting and defending democracy, the rule of law and human rights
