Fundraiser and Trustee for Selective Mutism Charity - Volunteer
SMiRA is looking for a new Fundraiser to join our dynamic and committed team of voluntary Trustees. The role is part of a Selective Mutism advice, support and research organisation, and you will help grow our charity.
What difference will you make?
You will play a crucial role on the charity’s Management Committee, working closely with other Trustees and the SMiRA Coordinator. You will provide fundraising expertise while acting as a full Trustee. You will help raise awareness of Selective Mutism locally, nationally and internationally, and influence government policy through our collaborations with other UK charities.
Commitment
Average time commitment is 1‑3 hours per week plus committee meetings (around six times a year via Zoom and the AGM).
What are we looking for?
- Knowledge and experience of current and fundraising practice relevant to voluntary and community organisations.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work in a team.
- Enthusiasm and ideas about how to grow a small charity to ensure a sustainable future.
- Experience in writing successful bids for fundraising would be beneficial.
What will you be doing?
SMiRA, registered as a charity in 1992, aims to provide information and support to children, young people and adults affected by Selective Mutism, to their parents and carers, and to professional workers. The charity also conducts research into the condition and publishes findings, and raises public awareness.
SMiRA is run by a Management Committee of twelve voluntary members. All members are Trustees who share legal responsibility for the charity.
