Overview
In this post you are responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence-based patient care using clinical expertise and skill. The post holder will work collaboratively and co-operatively with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, in meeting the needs of the patients.

Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate high quality, safe and compassionate care for patients in the perioperative setting.
- Use evidence based perioperative standards, trust policies as well as local and national guidelines (e.g. NICE).
- Work with the perioperative multidisciplinary team (including Anaesthetists and Surgeons) to provide effective care within the Post Anaesthetic care discipline, in line with scope of practice and departmental need.
- Support the Theatre Leadership Team to ensure standards of practice and care quality are upheld; act as a role model, support the learning of others and contribute to the development and implementation of improvement ideas.
- Registered practitioner or nurse with NMC / HCPC registration.
- Band 5 experience in Recovery/PACU or Surgery/Critical Care or A&E; or newly qualified with a preceptorship development programme available.
- Experience working in a theatre environment is desirable.
We are seeking applicants who can work a variety of shifts to cover core hours, nights and weekends.
DepartmentOur 15 theatre department carries out a wide range of procedures for a number of surgical specialties including Orthopaedics, Trauma, ENT, Dentals, Urology, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Colorectal, Breast, Obstetrics and more recently, Robotics.
