We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Fosse Way, a Category C resettlement prison in Leicester. HMP Fosse Way opened in May 2023 and is designed to provide secure environments where inmates can acquire skills, qualifications, and meaningful employment upon release, aiming to reduce reoffending rates.
Hours- Monday - Sunday service
- 37.5 hours per week
- Day shifts 07:00-20:00
- Night shifts 19:30-07:30
- 1 week in 4 weekends
- 8 week rolling rota
This position is full time and offers an annual salary between £43,609 and £49,175, depending on experience.

- Lead a multi‑disciplinary team to deliver a nurse‑led service and prevent hospital admissions.
- Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening.
- Provide evidence‑based care, listening to and acting on patient feedback to ensure care is personalised.
- Deliver non‑judgemental care that makes a real difference.
- Inspire excellence by forging strong links with partners and stakeholders and providing a service that is trusted, safe and proud to use.
- Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence‑based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning.
- Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multi‑disciplinary teams and supporting each other to do a great job.
- Registered nurse (Adult) – NMC
- Evidence of continued professional development.
- Understanding of multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency working complexities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proactive problem‑solving skills.
- Motivation as an individual and within a team.
Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
