Job Summary
Senior Nurse to join the Primary Care team at HMP Fosse Way, a Category C resettlement prison in Leicester.
HMP Fosse Way opened in May 2023. Its state‑of‑the‑art design and facilities provide a secure environment where we deliver skills and qualifications to inmates, enabling them to secure meaningful employment on release and reducing reoffending rates.
Hours and Salary- Monday – Sunday service
- 37.5 hours per week
- Day shifts – 07:00‑20:00
- Night shifts – 19:30‑07:30
- 1 week in 4 weekends
- 8‑week rolling rota
Annual salary £43,609 – £49,175, depending on experience.

- Lead a multi‑disciplinary team to deliver a nurse‑led service and reduce hospital admissions
- Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening
- Provide evidence‑based care, actively listening to and acting on patient feedback, personalising care based on what matters to them
- Deliver non‑judgemental care that makes a real difference
- Forge strong links with partners and stakeholders to build a service that patients trust, feel safe in, and feel proud of
- Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence‑based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning

- Registered Nurse (Adult) – NMC
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Understanding of the complexities of multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency working
- Excellent communication skills

- Motivated as an individual and as part of a team
Ideal candidates would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
Additional CriteriaSecure environment working experience is highly valued.
