Purovets have an exciting new opportunity for a veterinary surgeon to join a friendly practice in Norfolk. You will be joining a six-vet small animal practice to provide the highest clinical standard of care to their clients and their animals. The day-to-day duties consist of consultations, diagnostic and surgical procedures, working within a team of motivated and skilled vets and nurses and excellent Support staff.

The reputable practice has four vets with certificates, in small animal surgery, ECC, ophthalmology, small animal medicine and diagnostic imaging. They also have several dedicated operating theatres, consultation rooms, nurses consult and treatment rooms. As well as this, they also offer state-of-the-art facilities on site including x-ray, video endoscopy, ECG, and a full colour Doppler ultrasound.

Currently they have six vets, eleven RVNs, two VCAs, five receptionists and four support staff who are responsible for administration and management. The two clinical directors also take an active role in the management of the practice. They have four certificate holders, between them holding certificates in Small Animal Surgery, Advanced Small Animal Orthopaedics, Emergency Medicine and Surgery, Diagnostic Imaging, Ophthalmology and Small Animal Medicine.

They have a diploma holder in Advanced Veterinary Practice Sciences, and three RCVS recognised Advanced Practitioners, between them, in Emergency and Critical Care, Small Animal Surgery, Small Animal Medicine and Small Animal Ophthalmology. Their nursing team takes an active role in clinics to support the veterinary surgeons, and they also have nurses with certificates in behaviour and physiotherapy. If you have a particular area of interest this will be
encouraged and supported. Experience is ideal but a new graduate would be considered as they have a very supportive team.

The hours for this role are 36 per week with normal working days being Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm; they can be flexible within these times, days off are included and later evening consultations are possible if wanted. They provide our own 'on-call' out of hours service to their own clients. On-call times are between 5:30pm and 8:30am Monday to Friday, and weekends from Saturday 8:30am to Monday 8:30am.

There are no routine consultations during these times. On duty is either a Saturday or Sunday. Frequency of on-call is 1 in 7 Monday to Saturday and 1 in 8 on Sunday.

They are a rural practice in a market town in a close-knit community, close to the north Norfolk beaches, pinewoods, the Norfolk Broads and equidistant between Norwich and Kings Lynn.
