24 at Dovecote Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join our weekend emergency and urgent care team. Whether you're looking for a regular commitment, additional ECC work alongside another role, or a flexible portfolio career, we can tailor the rota to suit you.

This is an opportunity to work within a busy multidisciplinary hospital, managing a rewarding emergency caseload while benefiting from advanced diagnostics, specialist support and an exceptional nursing team.

No two shifts are the same.

Our weekend vets manage a diverse and rewarding caseload including:

• Medical emergencies
• Trauma cases
• Urgent surgical presentations
• Hospitalised inpatients
• Complex medical and surgical investigations

• Advanced imaging including CT and MRI
• Comprehensive in-house laboratory facilities
• Dedicated inpatient and intensive care facilities
• Highly experienced ECC nurses and support teams
• Referral-level facilities and equipment
• A collaborative hospital environment focused on excellent patient care

Unlike many ECC roles, you'll work within a multidisciplinary referral hospital with access to expert support from:

• Neurology and Neurosurgery
• Soft Tissue Surgery
• Orthopaedic Surgery
• Diagnostic Imaging

Whether you're managing a challenging neurological emergency, a complex fracture, a surgical emergency or an unusual medical case, specialist expertise is close at hand.

This unique environment allows you to work independently whilst having referral-level support available whenever needed, helping you grow your confidence and clinical skills.

Available patterns include:

• 1 in 2 weekends
• 1 in 3 weekends

Up to £65,000 FTE, pro rata to your weekend commitment and experience.

We're looking for a Veterinary Surgeon who:

• Enjoys emergency and urgent care medicine
• Is confident prioritising and managing clinical cases

• Delivers excellent patient and client care
• Thrives in a fast-paced and varied environment

Previous ECC experience is desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
