Role Requirements

Performance of the quality management system, producing data and reporting on performance, measuring against set standards. Initial priorities will be around the Production / Manufacturing areas but this is an all-encompassing Quality role.

Your ultimate goal is to drive through Quality initiatives to improve operational efficiencies and improvement in margin.

Primary Responsibilities / Key Accountabilities

Critical assessment of the company’s quality procedures, ensuring that you initiate the appropriate actions to either devise and establish or further embed the company’s quality procedures, standards and specifications in order to attain and maintain relevant quality standards.

Responsible for the handling of all internal and externally generated NCRs, ensuring a robust root cause analysis is carried out and appropriate corrective and preventative actions plans are implemented and in place. Act as liaison between suppliers & customers if appropriate.

Reviewing everyday factory floor activities in order to train operators – implement and operate lineside quality checks.

Define the methods and equipment used to measure a process’s key quality characteristics.

Ensuring tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated.

Improve the processes - monitoring performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports to then drive through improvement initiatives, applying problem-solving techniques.

Train the production operatives in updated work procedures and productions.

Investigate ways to reduce waste and increase efficiency.

Set up and maintaining controls and documentation procedures.

Make recommendations for changes and improvements and how to implement them.

Liaise with other managers and staff throughout the organisation to ensure the quality management system is functioning properly. Where appropriate you’ll advise on changes and how to implement them ad provide training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality standards.

Liaising with customers, auditors, and ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers' specifications.

Supplier audits and monitoring/qualifying new supplies. Ensuring key suppliers have appropriate quality controls in place (in collaboration with Procurement).

Assisting and encouraging staff to continuously review work practices and acting as a reference and resource for staff seeking to implement quality improvement actions.

Train internal team members on Quality Initiatives.

Maintain a central register of Quality Improvement activities and reports.

Actively support a CI approach and lead improvement activities to bring benefits to the business.

Person Specification

* Essential - Qualifications & Training / Diploma or Degree level qualification

* Desirable - Green/Black Belt Six Sigma Certified / IRCA Qualified

* Essential Experience - Strong Manufacturing background /

Experience with ISO
9001

* Desirable Experience - Over 3 years in a quality management position / Experience in FMCG or chemical manufacturing environment / Scrum methodology

Salary: £38,000 to £41,000 DOE

Pension / 33 Days Holiday (FTE) / Additional Benefits will be discussed at an interview.

Mon - Fri / (Apply online only) / 40 Hours per week
