The QHSE Manager will maintain compliance with ISO 9001, Vehicle Certification Agency requirements and other relevant regulatory bodies, while driving continuous improvement across the business. This is a hands-on opportunity to make a genuine impact within a small and growing team.
Role & Responsibilities
The QHSE Manager will be responsible for:
Maintaining and improving QSHE systems, procedures and documentation.
Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards and certification requirements.
Identifying workplace hazards and implementing measures to improve employee safety.
Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Managing internal and external quality issues and implementing effective countermeasures.
Promoting a strong quality culture through Quality Assurance and continuous improvement tools.
Monitoring QHSE performance and using data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Supporting internal and external audits and ensuring findings are addressed effectively.
New Products & Processes
The QHSE Manager will manage QHSE requirements for new products, processes and cost-reduction initiatives, ensuring risks and quality requirements are considered from the outset and changes are introduced in a controlled and effective way.
Qualifications & Experience
A NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent, is the minimum safety qualification required. Additional QSHE, auditing, environmental or continuous improvement qualifications would be advantageous, although relevant experience will also be considered.
Manufacturing experience is essential. The QHSE Manager should be IT literate, with intermediate Microsoft Office skills, strong numerical and analytical ability, and experience using data and statistics to solve problems. Knowledge of Six Sigma or similar improvement methodologies, together with familiarity with measuring and inspection equipment, would be beneficial.
Strong communication, problem-solving and organisational skills are important, along with a proactive approach and the confidence to challenge processes and drive improvements.
