This role requires a strong analytical scientist with deep understanding of food systems, who can develop, apply, and evolve analytical methods and technologies to support product development, quality, and innovation.

While experience in protein and fibre analysis is highly desirable, the role is broader and spans food chemistry across complex matrices.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver analytical testing and method development across a range of food systems.
  • Apply strong knowledge of food chemistry to interpret complex analytical data from various sources and generate clear, actionable insights for R&D teams.
  • Develop, optimise, and validate fit‑for‑purpose analytical methods across multiple techniques/technologies to improve accuracy, robustness, speed, and overall relevance to product and process questions.
  • Support analytical work across raw materials, finished products, and process or reformulation challenges.
  • Provide technical expertise in protein and fibre analysis where relevant to project needs.
  • Partner cross‑functionally with product development, nutrition, regulatory, and quality teams, as well as external laboratories and research partners.
  • Support method transfer and alignment across internal and external laboratories to ensure consistency and reliability of data.
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of Analytical Innovation capability within Measurement Science.
Qualifications
  • Master’s or PhD in Food Science, Analytical Chemistry, or related discipline.
  • Strong hands‑on experience in laboratory and analytical testing of food systems.
  • Experience with nutrients specifically proteins and fiber preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in method development and validation.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret data and provide insights.
  • Industry experience in FMCG, food R&D or analytical laboratory preferred.
