Assistant Buyer - Children’swear

About the RoleThe role involves developing a commercially successful product range by building strong relationships with suppliers, analysing data to plan across categories, and collaborating with designers and merchandisers. You will also work with product technology and sourcing functions, optimise online sales, liaise with marketing for campaigns, and manage the critical path for product development and selection.
Responsibilities- Develop and execute product plans for the Children’swear – Older Boys sector.
- Identify and source new products, building strong supplier relationships.
- Analyse performance data to optimise SKU assortments, pricing and markdowns.
- Collaborate with designers, merchandisers and technologists to create stylish collections for every season.
- Work closely with the e‑commerce team to optimise online sales through tone of voice, imagery and other tools.
- Coordinate with the Marketing team for campaign and e‑commerce shoots within departmental budgets.
- Manage the critical path for product development and selection, maintaining a fast‑paced pipeline.
- Travel frequently to source the best products and prices and obtain range sign‑offs.
- Plan and buy products, delivering agreed KPIs for sales, markdown and profit.
- Delegate resources and motivate the team to achieve objectives.
- Experienced Assistant Buyer with strong analytical and planning skills.
- Deep understanding of brand DNA, market competition and trend spotting.
- Proven track‑record in streamlining critical path and trading ranges in‑season.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Enthusiastic team‑player mindset and self‑motivated.
Salary: £33,000 – £45,000 per annum.

Enderby Head Office, Leicester.
