As a Customer Team Leader, you’ll lead a small team in a fast‑paced Co‑op store, helping to deliver essential services to your community. Depending on the store, this could involve working in a post office, brewery, online services, or supporting home‑delivery drivers. Whatever the day brings, you’ll play a key role in making life easier for our customers. Why this job matters: you’ll keep shelves stocked, support sales, and help us offer even more choice and new services.

You’ll be a familiar face in the community, getting to know customers and helping us stay connected with local and national charities. Plus, you’ll champion Co‑op membership to drive our unique business’s growth.

Responsibilities
  • Own the day‑to‑day running of the store by leading the team on your shift.
  • Motivate, coach, and support your team to deliver great service and efficient operations.
  • Work hands‑on on the shop floor, tills, and in‑store bakery, supporting daily operations and setting the pace for Customer Team Members.
  • Support store performance through merchandising, stock accuracy, and HR processes.
  • Champion Co‑op through community engagement and membership growth.
  • Assist the Store Manager and ensure the store is safe and well‑stocked.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Passion for people and leadership.
  • Ability to work flexibly and lead by example.
  • Skills in retail, merchandising, or team management (experience not essential).
Working Pattern
  • Mix of opening, closing, and mid‑day shifts.
  • Flexibility across the week including at least two evening shifts and one weekend shift.
  • Shift options:
    Friday after 6pm, any shift on Saturday, or Saturday or Sunday.
  • Work in the in‑store bakery is required (30% colleague member discount available).
