Buckland Manor – Sales Manager

One of the most elegant country house hotels in the Cotswolds, Buckland Manor is set in ten acres of stunning grounds. With 4 AA red stars, 3 AA rosettes and a member of Relais & Châteaux, Buckland Manor offers employees the opportunity to work within a traditional yet friendly English country house hotel.

Hours

(Part‑Time – 24 hours per week) Monday to Friday, with some evening or weekend work possible to meet clients or oversee events.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with the General Manager to create and implement a cohesive and agreed‑upon sales strategy and vision for the hotel.
  • Work with the central Sales and Marketing departments to align the hotel’s sales activity with campaigns and strategies.
  • Ensure robust sales planning at the hotel for key periods throughout the year, including suitable listings, regular internal sales activities and outreach actions.
  • Use market and competitor knowledge to identify sales messages for the hotel’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
  • Oversee and manage the hotel’s social media accounts, creating appropriate messaging to raise awareness of the hotel.
  • Achieve key sales KPIs delivered by the manager to drive profitability.
The ideal candidate will
  • Have a strong background in hospitality sales.
  • Be a naturally sales‑focussed individual who is confident communicating to all types of people.
  • Have outstanding persuasion, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Maintain great industry contacts and use their networks exceptionally well to increase sales.
  • Think commercially, ensuring planned activity drives profit as well as sales.
  • Work well with the wider marketing and revenue teams to coordinate activity.
  • Be willing to travel regularly for the role, including overnight stays where needed.
  • Be proficient with IT, producing and analysing sales reports and data regularly.
