Senior Business Development Manager – Private Enterprise (UK & Ireland)
At Centrica Business Solutions, you will drive growth for high‑value private enterprise clients across the Enterprise and Industrial & Commercial sectors, leading the end‑to‑end sales process for decarbonisation and energy solutions such as solar, CHP, heat pumps, and innovative financing models.
Responsibilities- Own and close complex, multi‑million‑pound energy and decarbonisation deals.
- Influence senior decision‑makers, including C‑suite stakeholders, to secure large‑scale agreements.
- Deliver annual revenues in the region of £12m–£20m and build a forward pipeline of £100m+.
- Lead the full sales lifecycle, from opportunity creation through to deal closure.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned to key Enterprise and I&C segments.
- Apply structured sales methodologies (e.g. Miller Heiman) to win complex deals.
- Represent Centrica Business at industry events, strengthening market presence and partnerships.
- Provide market insight and competitor intelligence to inform strategy and positioning.
- Maintain robust pipeline management and forecasting via Salesforce CRM.
- Play a leadership role across bids, governance, and commercial processes.
- Build long‑term, value‑based relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Proven track record of new business development and strategic sales in the Enterprise and I&C energy or solutions market.
- Strong background in decarbonisation solutions (solar, CHP, heat pumps, etc.) and demonstrable success in closing complex, high‑value deals.
- Deep understanding of UKI energy markets and Net Zero landscape.
- Experience with commercial and financial modelling (IRR, NPV, margin structures).
- Knowledge of energy solutions financing models (e.g. PPA, EaaS).
- Strategic thinker with a strong commercial mindset.
- Excellent stakeholder management – comfortable operating at C‑suite level.
- Highly collaborative, able to influence across multiple internal functions.
- Data‑driven, with strong pipeline management and forecasting discipline.
- Resilient, driven, and outcomes‑focused with a strong “hunter” mentality.
- Directly influence the UK/I P&L through large‑scale, strategic deals.
- Represent trusted brands including British Gas and Centrica Business Solutions.
- Operate in the fastest‑growing area: decarbonisation and Net Zero solutions.
- Engage with senior stakeholders internally and externally.
- Collaborate with marketing, engineering, finance and delivery teams to bring complex solutions to life.
