About the RoleAs a Relief Security Officer, you'll provide professional security services across a variety of sites within the Leicester, Lutterworth, and Derby M1 Corridor area, supporting operational requirements where needed.
You’ll help protect people, property, and assets while delivering exceptional customer service in line with site‑specific Assignment Instructions and customer requirements.
The Relief Security Officer must be adaptable and comfortable working across multiple locations, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and security at all times.
The Relief Security Officer will play a key role in maintaining a safe and secure environment, responding to incidents, conducting patrols, and supporting day‑to‑day security operations.

ResponsibilitiesYou’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:
- Protect Property & Premises – Prevent and deter unauthorised access to site, monitor CCTV, fire alarms, and intruder alarms, conduct internal and external security patrols.
- Manage site keys and locking/unlocking duties, carry out routine security equipment checks, control vehicle access and parking arrangements where required.
- Maintain accurate records and logbooks, issue visitor and contractor passes, handle lost property in line with site procedures.
- Report suspicious activity, security breaches, and incidents promptly, support staff, visitors, and contractors on site, promote a safe and secure working environment.
- Report hazards, faults, and unsafe practices; record accidents and incidents in line with procedures; ensure emergency routes remain clear at all times.
- Report first aid equipment usage and shortages, support emergency responses and follow operational procedures.

QualificationsWhat we’re looking for:
We’re looking for someone who sees a different world—someone who values teamwork, shows initiative, and wants to grow. Ideally, you’ll have:
- Valid SIA Licence
- Right to work in the UK
- British nationality and UK residency for the last 5 years (site requirement)
- Aged 18 or over
- 5‑year checkable employment history, or supporting documentation covering any gaps
- No current criminal convictions
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
- Strong customer service skills and a professional approach
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Professional, reliable, and punctual
- Flexible to work days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays
- Available to cover shifts at short notice when required
- Comfortable travelling between sites and adapting to different environments

- Previous experience as a Relief Security Officer or Security Officer
- Full UK driving licence and access to own transport
- Experience in customer‑facing roles
- Knowledge of CCTV, access control systems, site security procedures, and incident reporting
