This is an exciting opportunity to shape a new role of Safeguarding Adult Practice Lead in Adult Social Care.
We are looking for a motivated individual with a passion for supporting people in Leicester, to live in the place they call home with the people and things that they love, in communities where they look out for one another, doing things that matter to them. You will play a key role in the development of best practice in safeguarding adults in Leicester acting as a lead in this area.
The role is important in improving outcomes for people who have been safeguarded by shaping adult social care practice by using findings from audits, serious case reviews and feedback from people who draw on support to support departmental-wide learning. This is a full-time role with the flexibility in hybrid working being both Office based, at Town Hall or working remotely from home to suit service needs.
Responsibilities- Working alongside the Principal Social Worker representing Adult Social Care at multi‑agency and safeguarding forums, developing positive relationships with partners.
- Undertaking safeguarding adult practice related audit activity across adult social care, working alongside the Quality Assurance Practice Manager, analysing findings and producing reports on Safeguarding Practice, making recommendations for improvement.
- Providing professional challenge, advice and guidance to Team Leaders on safeguarding adult concerns, escalating urgent practice issues to the Principal Social Worker, and contributing to the development of safeguarding adult policies and procedures both local and regional.
- Supporting the service’s focus on best‑practice development in adult social care, including learning and development across adult social care.
- Registered Social Worker with experience in a social work team undertaking or managing Safeguarding Adult Enquiries with complexity.
- Experience of leading or supporting change/service development projects and confidence in working with diverse people and organisations.
- Experience supervising people and helping them to learn and develop.
- Commitment to strengths‑based social care practice and ability to bring vision and values to life in everyday practice.
- Compassionate, enthusiastic support for Adult Social Care’s approach to safeguarding adults, learning from feedback, audits and reviews to support service developments, policies, procedures, and practice changes.
- Enhanced DBS and ability to visit locations across Leicester and beyond.
