Overview
We have a fantastic opportunity for a one year fixed term Assessing Social Worker to join our Kinship Assessment team.

About YouTo apply for this post, you must be able to evidence in your application how you meet the following criteria:
- Social Work Qualification; BA/ MA/DipSW/CSS/CQSW. Registered with the Social Work England
- Number of years of post qualification within a statutory social work setting, with experience of undertaking detailed and comprehensive assessments and risk assessments
- Post qualifying experience of working within Children’s Social Care Service settings and in the provision of fostering and / or adoption Services
- Experience of assessment work with foster carers, connected / kinship carers, and / or adopter households. Experience of writing Court reports
- Knowledge of relevant existing legislation and in‑depth knowledge of National Minimum Standards, Statutory Regulations and Guidance which relate to Kinship care, fostering, SGO and CAO care options.
- Knowledge of the impact of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and how children impacted by these can be cared for in a way which encourages recovery and resilience.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally, to prioritise and work under pressure, to work to strict timescales, to work in a professional way with families and other professionals, Able to work as part of a team. Can demonstrate a flexible approach and a persistence and resourcefulness to get things done.
