Are you a passionate, NMC‑registered Band 5 Nurse ready to take the next step after completing your preceptorship? Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust is seeking motivated nurses to join our specialist Looked After Children (LAC) Service. This rewarding community role focuses on improving outcomes for children and young people in care. You will deliver holistic health assessments, develop SMART care plans, and support emotional, physical and developmental well‑being for a highly vulnerable group.
Working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team, you will build meaningful relationships with children, carers and partner agencies, acting as a key advocate and trusted professional. This role offers excellent development opportunities, including training and ongoing professional support.

Job Description Summary – Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for registered nurses (RN Level
1) who have successfully completed preceptorship and have a strong interest in child health, safeguarding and public health nursing.
- Undertake Review Health Assessments and contribute to high‑quality care planning
- Support children with complex needs, including emotional health, trauma and attachment
- Work closely with carers, social care and partner agencies
- Contribute to Leaving Care Health Summaries and transition planning
- Promote access to services and advocate for children and young people
- NMC registration and recent CPD
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to safeguarding and improving outcomes for looked after children
- Ability to travel across the Trust locality of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland
This role requires you to hold a FULL Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
