Description: Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Permanent Specialist Adult Social Worker to work with people who are hoarding Here at Leicester City Council, we are passionate about using a strengths-based approach to listen and understand what a good life looks like for people who come into contact with us. We have conversations that start with people's own strengths, make connections with families, friends, and local communities to achieve the outcomes that matter and improve their wellbeing.

When care and support is required, we work with people to find solutions to live their lives as independently as possible. The Locality based Social Care Team is seeking a dedicated Social Worker to provide specialised support for people experiencing hoarding behaviours. You will work daily alongside housing officers, fire and rescue services, environmental health, psychiatric teams, and community charities to co-create holistic, person-centred and strength based way.

What You’ll Be Doing

No two days are the same, you’ll be working with people who experience hoarding. You will have conversations with them to discuss what matters to them and others around them. You'll have a can-do attitude, a good awareness of the local information and advice that is available and use this to support people and their carers to solutions, drawing on what they already have around them that is working, or could work.

You'll work in partnership with others across social care, Health, Probation, Fire services and Housing teams.
