This Senior Practitioner post sits in Nottinghamshire County Council's Children's Social Care team, overseeing support services for disabled children and their families. The work centres on coordinating those services to meet individual needs and on leading, supervising and developing Senior Support Workers and Support Workers in a range of settings. The permanent 37-hour role offers hybrid working. Candidates need a social care, child development or related professional qualification at NVQ Level 4 or above, and a full driving licence unless registered disabled.
Whatthe job involves
- Coordinate support services to meet the needs of disabled children and their families
- Supervise Senior Support Workers and Support Workers, giving guidance and performance support across various settings
- Support Senior Support Workers in delivering and developing high-quality services
- Work flexibly to meet operational needs and deliver effective interventions
- Ensure services are delivered safely and in line with relevant policies and regulations
- Take part in workforce development, service planning and quality assurance activities
- Professional qualification in social care, child development or a related field at NVQ Level 4 or above
- Minimum of two years working with children, young people and families
- Solid understanding of child development, effective parenting and attachment theory
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, families and colleagues
- Ability to make decisions and devise solutions to meet operational targets
- Collaborates effectively with others and contributes positively to team dynamics
- Full driving licence, unless registered disabled
- High level of personal drive and dedication to excellent customer care
