Salary: £60,000+ per annum - highly negotiable depending on experience

Hours:
Full-time, Monday to Friday

Contract:
Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Manager or ambitious Deputy Manager to join a well-established, specialist children's residential care provider in Leicester.

With over 10 years of experience in children's care, this organisation has built its reputation around providing safe, nurturing and genuinely child-centred environments where young people can feel supported, valued and understood.

The organisation is led by individuals with extensive backgrounds in children's care, meaning there is a genuine understanding of the challenges, responsibilities and rewards that come with managing a residential children's home.

We are looking for a passionate and capable individual to take responsibility for an established children's home in the LE5 area of Leicester.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a meaningful difference within an organisation that places the needs of children at the heart of everything it does.

The Role

As Registered Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring children receive consistently high standards of care in a safe, welcoming and supportive environment.

You will be encouraged to bring your own ideas, experience and leadership style to the role, while benefiting from the guidance and expertise of an experienced senior leadership team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, supporting and developing a dedicated residential childcare team.
  • Ensuring the home provides a safe, nurturing and positive environment for children and young people.
  • Maintaining compliance with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding requirements and the Children's Homes Quality Standards.
  • Leading and coordinating Ofsted inspections, ensuring the home remains inspection-ready.
  • Developing and implementing individualised care plans that reflect the needs of each child.
  • Managing safeguarding concerns, risk assessments and behavioural support strategies.
  • Conducting staff supervisions, supporting training and promoting professional development.
  • Building effective relationships with social workers, local authorities, families and external professionals.
  • Monitoring the quality of care and implementing improvements where required.
  • Promoting a positive culture in which both children and staff feel valued and supported.
About You

We are interested in speaking with experienced Registered Managers as well as strong Deputy Managers who are ready to take the next step in their careers.

The most important qualities are your understanding of children's residential care, your leadership capabilities and your commitment to achieving positive outcomes for young people.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Substantial experience working within children's residential care.
  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager or an experienced Deputy Manager with significant leadership responsibility.
  • Direct involvement in Ofsted inspections, including preparation, the inspection process and/or subsequent improvement planning.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, children's home regulations and Ofsted requirements.
  • Experience managing, supporting and developing residential childcare teams.
  • A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or eligibility and willingness to complete the qualification within the required timeframe.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and decision-making skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people.

Experience working with children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), complex needs or SEMH would be particularly advantageous.

A proven track record of achieving positive Ofsted outcomes or successfully implementing improvements within a children's home would also be highly valued.

However, previous registration is not essential. Experienced Deputies with strong inspection experience and the appropriate background will be seriously considered.

Why Join This Organisation?

This is an opportunity to become part of a provider that has retained a genuine passion for children's care throughout its growth and development.

The organisation is committed to investing in its people, developing strong leaders and ensuring its homes provide the best possible environments for children.

You can expect:

  • A competitive starting salary of £60,000+, with…
