Matthew James Recruitment is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing logistics business for an experienced Class 2 HGV Driver.

The Role

As a Class 2 Driver, you'll be responsible for delivering goods to town centre retail stores across the UK. This is a physically demanding, hands-on role involving manual unloading (handball), so you'll need to be comfortable with heavy lifting and working in a fast-paced delivery environment.

The role includes regular overnight stays, with secure SNAP parking provided.

Key Responsibilities

* Complete multi-drop deliveries to retail customers.

* Safely load and unload deliveries using a tail lift and manual handling techniques.

* Deliver outstanding customer service at every delivery point.

* Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects.

* Ensure all paperwork and proof of deliveries are completed accurately.

* Adhere to all Driver Hours, Working Time Directive and road transport legislation.

* Represent the business professionally as the face of the company.

Working Hours

* Guaranteed 45 hours per week.

* Typically 2 overnight stays per week.

* One shift will usually start around 2:00am and includes an overnight stay.

* One shift will usually start around 4:00am and includes an overnight stay.

* Additional shifts may be available depending on legal driving hours, so flexibility is essential.

What's on Offer

 * £16.50 - £18.00 per hour, depending on experience.

 * £26.20 overnight allowance per night.

* Permanent, full-time position.

* Monthly pay (16th of each month).

* Secure overnight parking through the SNAP network.

* Modern, well-maintained 26-tonne vehicles fitted with tail lifts.

* Immediate start available for the right candidate.

What We're Looking For

* Valid Class 2 (Category

C) Licence.

* Driver CPC Qualification Card.

* Digital Tachograph Card.

* Previous multi-drop delivery experience is advantageous.

* Physically fit and happy to undertake manual handball deliveries.

* Excellent customer service and communication skills.

* Reliable, flexible and professional approach to work.

* Strong understanding of driver hours and transport legislation.
