Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cleaner Fueller Shunter Supervisor to oversee our evening cleaning, fuelling, and shunting operations at Arriva Midlands Limited. This role ensures the efficient and safe movement of vehicles within the depot, maintains high standards of cleanliness, and manages a team of staff.
Job Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the cleaning, fuelling, and shunting team.
- Ensure all vehicles are cleaned to the required company standards, both internally and externally.
- Oversee the refuelling of all vehicles, ensuring accurate record-keeping and adherence to safety protocols.
- Manage the safe and efficient shunting (moving) of buses within the depot, including parking and preparing vehicles for service.
- Conduct regular inspections of vehicles and equipment to identify and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
- Train new staff members on cleaning procedures, fuelling operations, and safe shunting practices.
- Monitor staff performance and provide feedback.
- Implement and enforce company health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.
- Complete all necessary paperwork and reports accurately and on time, including shift logs, fuel usage, and incident reports.
- Liaise with other departments (e.g., engineering, operations) to ensure smooth depot operations.
- Handle any immediate operational issues or staff concerns that arise during the shift.
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a transport or depot environment.
- Demonstrable experience in vehicle cleaning, fuelling, and shunting operations.
- Full UK driving licence (preferably with PCV/PSV entitlement, or willingness to obtain).
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to depot operations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Basic computer literacy for record-keeping and communication.
- Flexibility to work evening and weekend shifts as required by operational needs.
