Warehouse & Dispatch Operative

Location:

LE4, Leicester
Salary: £27,898 per annum

Hours:

37 hours per week

  • Monday–Thursday: 7:30am–4:00pm
  • Friday: 7:30am–12:30pm
  • Permanent
The Role

DC Personnel are recruiting for a Warehouse & Dispatch Operative on behalf of our client, a well-established precision manufacturing business based in LE4, Leicester. This is a hands‑on role split between warehouse operations and despatch, working within a small, close‑knit team. The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring accurate stock control and the safe, high‑quality packing and despatch of products, while supporting continuous improvement across the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out general warehouse duties, ensuring accuracy and timely service
  • Pack products to defined standards, ensuring protection and quality during transit
  • Manage despatch activities with a high attention to detail
  • Support inventory management and stock control processes
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments and external contacts
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Promote a “do it once, do it right” culture
  • Support 6S and lean working practices
Essential Skills & Experience Required
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a warehouse or despatch environment
  • Willingness to undergo a DBS check as part of the pre‑employment screening process
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, changing environment
  • Experience working as part of a team
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety best practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
