High Voltage Substation Primary Engineer

Overview  High Voltage Substation Primary Engineer – Permanent – Netherlands – €80k-90k per year. Our client, a leading global infrastructure and engineering consultancy, is seeking an experienced High Voltage Substation Primary Engineer to join their team and support the delivery of a major project based in The Netherlands. This is a permanent role, offering the opportunity to contribute to a high-profile programme within a complex engineering environment.
Responsibilities   Act as technical lead for HV primary circuit engineering on substation projects (AIS/GIS), from concept through detail design and construction support.
Develop and review HV primary circuit designs, including substation layouts, equipment arrangements, busbar configurations, and HV cable systems.
Contribute to and review power system studies such as load flow, short-circuit, and equipment rating assessments to ensure safe and reliable operation.
Qualifications   Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Proficiency in engineering software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, PSCAD, ETAP).
Strong understanding of primary circuit design principles, including substation design, overhead lines, and underground cables.
Excellent project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and resource management.
