Data-analysis DNA-protein interactions and drug development

Project Description

Implement algorithms to analyse and understand DNA-protein interactions. Depending on student preference and background, the project can focus on one or more of the following: image processing of fluorescence microscopy data, AI/machine learning for pattern recognition, single particle tracking, statistical analysis of protein trajectories, and intuitive data visualization.

• Implement, adapt, and test algorithms (e.g., for image preprocessing, spot detection, single particle tracking, or classification using machine learning) in a suitable programming environment like Python.
• Document and communicate to different stakeholders.
• Help collect feedback to improve user experience.
• Gain an overview of the biological question and relevant computational approaches by studying selected literature and exploring example datasets and tools.

• Motivation to work in a start-up environment and to develop or apply computational methods.
• Ability to work carefully and independently, open‑mindset.
• Enrolled in a relevant Master’s programme (e.g., Nanobiology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Bioinformatics, or related field) with an interest in quantitative approaches to biological problems.
