This is a defined three-month assignment and is best suited to someone who enjoys detailed, process-led work and takes satisfaction from getting records, orders and information into shape. The work will be heavily administrative and Excel-focused. You will update and tidy purchasing data, investigate queries, chase outstanding information and keep purchase orders moving. Full training will be provided on the company system.

What you will be doing Support the Buyer with day-to-day purchasing administration and tasks allocated according to team priorities. Maintain, move, amend and remove information within the purchasing system, improving the accuracy of existing records. Work through outstanding actions and help clear the team’s administrative backlog. Manage the shared purchasing inbox and respond to or direct supply-chain queries. Create, update and monitor purchase orders, chasing suppliers for confirmations and delivery information.

Investigate prices, discrepancies, missing information and delayed orders using Excel and internal systems. Record notes, actions and updates clearly on the system so that colleagues have an accurate audit trail. Check order acknowledgements and confirmations, escalating differences or delays where required. Liaise with suppliers, the sales team, order-processing colleagues and accounts. Chase invoices or resolve straightforward invoice queries when requested.

Organise purchasing records, spreadsheets, emails and supporting documentation. What we need from you Immediate availability and the commitment to complete the full three-month assignment. Strong Excel skills and confidence working through detailed or untidy data. A methodical approach with excellent attention to detail and accuracy. The curiosity and common sense to investigate an issue rather than simply passing it on.

Confidence chasing suppliers and working with several internal departments. The ability to manage repetitive, process-led administration without losing focus. Previous purchasing, procurement, supply-chain, order-processing or sales-administration experience is desirable. Experience using an ERP or purchasing system would be helpful, although system training will be provided.
