About the Setting

This setting is a unique alternative provision located in a beautiful woodland environment. It offers a low-demand, nurturing, and therapeutic space where children aged 7-14 who struggle in traditional school settings can thrive.

Instead of classroom-based teaching, learning is entirely practical, hands-on, and outdoor-focused. The curriculum is built around activities like bushcraft skills, woodland walks, physical challenges, archery, axe throwing, shooting, woodwork, and various practical projects. The core mission is to help children with complex needs - including SEMH, ASD, and anxiety - develop confidence, self-esteem, social skills, emotional regulation, and overall wellbeing.

  • Comfortably manage and support 1:1 and small groups of children within a dynamic outdoor environment.
  • Act as a resilient, adaptable, and trusted role model, focusing heavily on connection and positive relationship-building.
