Senior Principal Certification Engineer – Aftermarket
Location:
Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, United Kingdom (Onsite)
Senior Principal Engineer – Structural Engineering will serve as the subject matter expert for certification compliance and airworthiness, responsible for executing STC, PMA, UK CAA and OEM certification programs, developing certification strategy, and developing Structural Engineers within the organization.
What You Will Do- Define standards and implement processes for certification and airworthiness within the engineering organization.
- Execute certification compliance campaigns for programs related to commercial aircraft interior upgrades.
- Partner with regulators, aircraft OEMs and organizations across Collins on certification strategies to enable and grow the aftermarket business.
- Coordinate with management to develop training plans, and mentor team members for discipline advancement.
- Review and approve test plans, reports, compliance documents, and witness testing.
- Conduct root cause analysis, participate in and facilitate continuous improvement activities to improve performance.
- Identify and react to complex project problems, develop and implement solutions.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Experience working in an aerospace environment, ideally within In Service/Aftermarket.
- Extensive experience with aircraft OEM, FAA and/or EASA aircraft certification processes.
- M1020 Signatory experience.
- Experience in the design and certification of mechanical and electrical systems for commercial aircraft interior products.
- Current EASA/UK CVE or Company equivalent within Part 25.
