Dispensary Assistant

Our dispensary team comprise 4 part-time dispensers and we are looking for a 5th person to complete our team; could that be you?

Ideally, the successful candidate will have the NVQ2 in dispensing or be enthusiastic about learning a new skill and undertaking this qualification.

Experience of System One and/or working in primary care would be an advantage but a systematic and methodical approach with excellent keyboard and customer service skills are essential for the role.

Previous experience of working with the public and in a busy environment are essential, as is the desire to work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure patient safety and effective communication at all times.

Managing queries at the counter.

Repeat prescribing.

Unpacking deliveries and managing associated paperwork.

Operating the till & credit card machine.

We are a large, busy, but equally friendly training practice offering general medical GP services to our 22,000 patients. We dispense medication to those living in more rural areas of town, which is approx. 10% of our list. We work closely with patients/their carers and other care professionals and no 2 days are the same. We look forward to welcoming you to our team.

Our dispensary team comprise of 5 part-time personnel who work independently but are still very much a part of our wider practice team. They liaise most closely with our onsite GPs and Clinical Pharmacists & Reception colleagues and are responsible for covering for one another during periods of absence.
