Job Title: CNC Milling Machine Operator / Programmer (Fanuc, 3–5 Axis)
Salary: £35,000 – £50,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours: 4-day working week (Monday to Thursday) Day Shift 10 hours per day
Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Milling Machine Operator/Programmer with experience on Fanuc-controlled 3–5 axis machines. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating high-precision CNC milling machines to produce components that meet exacting quality standards. This role is ideal for someone who is technically minded, detail-oriented, and experienced in producing complex components using CAD/CAM software.
You will play a key role in ensuring production runs efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.
- Program, set up, and operate Fanuc CNC milling machines (3–5 axis) for production of high-precision components.
- Produce components in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Use CAD/CAM software to create and modify programs for machining operations.
- Perform first-off inspections and in-process checks to ensure parts meet tolerances and quality requirements.
- Carry out routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on CNC machinery.
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to improve processes and resolve technical issues.
- Maintain accurate records of production, machine settings, and inspection results.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with company health and safety policies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing process.
- Proven experience programming, setting up, and operating Fanuc CNC milling machines (3–5 axis).
- Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM software and its application in CNC programming.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering data.
- Good understanding of machining processes, tolerances, and material properties.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
