Bench Joiner

Location: Bedfordshire

Working hours: Monday to Friday - Day shift

Pay: Negotiable, dependent on experience

We are recruiting a Bench Joiner to support the production of high-end bespoke joinery within a modern workshop environment. This role is ideal for an experienced, workshop-based joiner who takes pride in precision craftsmanship and enjoys contributing to a collaborative manufacturing team.

Candidates with solid bench joinery experience will be fully supported with additional internal training to help strengthen skills, broaden experience and progress within the business.

Role Overview

As a Bench Joiner, you will be responsible for assembling bespoke joinery components to a high standard, ensuring all items meet production specifications and are prepared for onward processing through the workshop.

You will work closely with management and other departments to ensure an efficient and consistent workflow, contributing to the overall quality and delivery of finished products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Constructing and assembling bespoke joinery and cabinet-making projects from technical drawings
  • Finishing, sanding and preparing completed items to ensure they are ready for spraying, dispatch or further processing
  • Maintaining quality standards and ensuring work is produced in line with production requirements
  • Providing your own essential hand tools, including cordless drills
  • Supporting other workshop functions when required, including occasional assistance in the machine shop or other operational areas
  • Working in line with instructions provided by the Joinery Manager to ensure smooth production flow

Skills, Experience & Attributes

  • Previous experience in a bench joinery or workshop-based joinery role
  • Ability to read and accurately interpret AutoCAD drawings and manufacturing documentation
  • Experience with woodworking machinery is beneficial but not essential
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality workmanship
  • Good communication and organisation skills
  • Practical problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to work
  • Reliable, responsible and capable of working in a fast-paced production environment
  • Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team
