Are you an experienced CNC Turner / Programmer looking to join a well-established and respected manufacturing business in Leighton Buzzard?
Do you have a passion for precision engineering, a strong understanding of the turning process, and the ability to work to tight tolerances?
Our client is a long-standing and highly regarded engineering company specialising in the manufacture of low-volume, high-quality tubular and threaded components. They supply a range of sectors including Aerospace, Motorsport, Oil & Gas, and Defence.
Due to continued growth and expansion, they are now seeking an experienced CNC Turner / Programmer to join and strengthen their engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
Programming CNC lathes (2-axis turning machines)
Writing new CNC programs long-hand at the machine with minimal supervision
Producing one-off and short-run precision components
Working to tight tolerances from detailed engineering drawings
Carrying out in-process inspection using measuring equipment
Maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy
Experience & Skills Required
Proven, time-served experience programming CNC lathes confidently
Strong ability to write programs at the machine independently
Experience with Fanuc-controlled lathes (advantageous)
Fanuc Manual Guide i and G-code experience (desirable)
Solid understanding of engineering drawings
Experience machining a variety of metals
Quality-driven, self-motivated, and hands-on approach
Confident working on components ranging from:
Ø25mm x 100mm
Up to Ø300mm x 3m in length
(Hoist lifting equipment and training provided)
