Project Engineer Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C
As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell
C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2‑gigawatt power station generating low‑carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the Logistics & Services Section.
The scope of the Plant and Logistic function is the integrated support of CWA portions. This includes the planning, design, execution and seamless integration, including the management, of plant workshops, stores, reinforcement cut & bend factory, warehouses and concrete batching plants. This role is ideally suited to someone looking primarily for a technical position that also includes aspects of project management and support to subcontractors.
Specifically, the Project Engineer will be responsible to study, identify and coordinate the sequence and methods of works on a construction site involving multiple subcontractors to ensure progress is maintained as per programme. With the support of methods engineers, he/she will prepare sequence studies, time slices and 4D models required for the coordination of on‑site activities, perform logistic studies, define the required temporary works, draft plans, review subcontractors’ deliverables.
The Project Engineer will be responsible for integration of works involving different disciplines (reinforced concrete works, civils, roads & hard standings, mechanical, electrical, water). The Project Engineer will support the Project Manager in the mobilization of the subcontractor to site. The role requires working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders such as Subcontractors, CWA Delivery team, CWA Engineering, CWA Temporary Works, CWA Plant & Logistic team, Principal Contractor and Principal Designer.

- Essential
- Previous experience in complex project environments, either in Technical or Delivery position.
- Understanding of project planning and resourcing. Methods‑led approach.
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of industry standard safe systems of work.
- Clear understanding of CDM
2015 Regulations, PC and Contractor duties. - Applied knowledge of modern methods of construction and digital planning tools.
- Proficient in working with digital models and BIM environments (e.g., Navisworks).
- Deadline‑focused outputs.
- Interpersonal, communications and facilitation skills.
- Able to take decisions in autonomy.
- Proficient in AutoCAD for technical drawing and design coordination.
- Ability to generate site installation drawings, time slices, and 4D construction sequences.
- Experience reviewing subcontractor design deliverables including drawings, models, and risk registers.
- Express and maintain a best for project approach.
- Desirable
- Confidence to propose innovative solutions and challenge conventional construction approaches constructively.
- Essential
- Degree in a relevant discipline.
- Previous experience in civil construction or mechanical and electrical industry.
- CSCS card.
- Desirable
- Experience in nuclear industry.
- Temporary Works Coordinator or Supervisor experience.
