Clerical Assistant – Leith Academy
Salary: £26,806 - £27,032 (pro‑rata for part‑time and sessional)
Hours:
33.5 per week, 39 weeks sessional
Working pattern:
Monday – Friday
Leith Academy are looking for a part‑time sessional Clerical Assistant to join their busy office team. We are seeking a friendly, outgoing, customer‑focused person with excellent communication skills who likes to work in a fast paced office environment. Good IT skills and a high level of attention to detail are key in this role.
The successful candidate will be conscientious with strong interpersonal and communication skills and be committed to providing excellent customer service. They must be able to demonstrate a willingness to work flexibly and manage conflicting priorities in order to meet the needs of the service. They will be competent in the use of ICT and have knowledge and experience of using databases, spreadsheets and word documents.
Previous office‑based administration, reception and telephone experience is essential.

- Monitoring pupil attendance using the SEEMIS system and liaising with parents, pupils and staff
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.
You will be required to provide this check, and an unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both checks being deemed satisfactory.
