Salary: £26,806 - £27,032 (pro‑rata for part‑time and sessional)
Hours:
33.5 per week, 39 weeks sessional
Working pattern for the position is Monday – Friday.
Leith Academy are looking for a part‑time sessional Clerical Assistant to join their busy office team. We are seeking a friendly, outgoing, customer‑focussed person with excellent communication skills who likes to work in a fast‑paced office environment. Good IT skills and a high level of attention to detail are key in this role.
Responsibilities- Answering telephone, e‑mail or in‑person enquiries
- Updating records
- Ordering supplies
- Sending messages via Groupcall
- Arranging school events
- Monitoring pupil attendance using the SEEMIS system and liaising with parents, pupils and staff
Qualifications & Skills
- Adaptability and flexibility
- Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously to a high standard
- Strong communication skills
- Positive and professional attitude
- High level of attention to detail
- Strong IT skills and a willingness to learn new systems
- Collaborating with others – ability to quickly form positive relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Previous office‑based administration, reception and telephone experience
- Knowledge and experience of using databases, spreadsheets and word documents
- Willingness to work flexibly and manage conflicting priorities
- Part‑time sessional work (Monday – Friday, 33.5 per week for 39 weeks)
- Regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 – candidate must join the PVG Scheme or undergo an update check
- Unconditional offer contingent on successful PVG and, where required, an Overseas Criminal Record Check
