The Community Recovery Team (CRT) is hosting a yard clean up for a flood survivor! Come help a community member get caught up with some weeding, planting, and reorganizing. This will also help prepare and clear the survivor's yard for the CRT roofing crew that will begin work the following week. Music, water, and snacks will be provided. Please do not register if you cannot volunteer for at least half of the event, which is located in Lemon Grove.
CRT Project Leaders will send an email with a specific address and any additional details upon registration.
- Assist with yard cleanup tasks: weeding, planting, and reorganizing to prepare the survivor's yard for upcoming CRT roofing work.
- Support community engagement and help create a welcoming environment.
- Attire: Please wear comfortable clothing, closed-toe shoes, or boots that can get dirty and bring gloves if you have them. This opportunity takes place outdoors with little or no shade; volunteers should wear sun protection such as sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat.
- Physical Requirements: Lifting 30 lbs, standing, and squatting. Not able to accommodate individuals with certain physical limitations; the space is not wheelchair accessible.
- Weather: The team will reschedule if weather becomes untenable.
- Note: The lead is Sage Lysobey ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).). Their resource coordinator, Jessica, will email volunteers confirmations and instructions prior to the opportunity.
- Eligibility: Age minimum 18+.
The San Diego Regional Community Recovery Team (RCRT) is a program of San Diego Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (SDVOAD). The Regional Community Recovery Team is a network of nonprofit, government, community and faith-based organizations active in disaster recovery. Collectively, RCRT forms the infrastructure of disaster recovery services for the San Diego region.
